*** EDIT *** Added a link to the page comparison I did; enjoy!: http://redrobotsuit.deviantart.com/art/Texture-Comparison-259407603

Well, the worst thing in the world just happened: Photoshop crashed when I was saving this little mini-comic thing I was going to post today, and I haven’t had a lot of time to redraw it… so yeah. I’ll try and pull something else together for later this week. In the meantime, please accept this little experiment of mine: I added texture to Page 25!!

I’ve been considering working with textures for quite a while now. They’re nice to use, especially on digitally produced comics, since they can help make the art look a little more organic. This is my first time ever working with this stuff, so I’m not sure if I did it as well as I could have, but still, I think it adds an interesting touch. It’s very subtle (most noticable in panels 3 and 7 where it looks like different amounts of light are coming through the leaves), so you may want to compare to the original version of this page. Maybe I’ll post a side by side version at some point.

So yeah, let me know what you think about this, I appreciate the feedback. In the meantime, I’ll work on something for you guys for later this week…provided Photoshop feels like cooperating…

Oh! and I can’t for get the important stuff! I learned how to use textures (and a lot of other things!) from Jason Brubaker on his site: http://www.remindblog.com/. He’s got a lot of helpful posts on a number of aspects of making/marketing comics. Oh! and he has his own comic too!

Also, I got the texture for this page from: http://www.bashcorpo.dk/textures.php
